Peak Moments
In Movies
Psychologist Abraham Maslow described "Peak Experiences" as moments when individuals feel at their very best, moments of great awe, intense happiness, rapture, bliss, ecstasy. These moments provide a cresting awareness of profound goodness, justice, validation, and harmony.
While the above definition refers to the individual experience, a film can likewise reach a juncture wherein it escapes the bounds of the ordinary and expected, becoming transcendent, mythical in scale, and indeed, even spiritual in nature. Correspondingly, these 'Peak Moments' in a movie can also instill towering feelings of elation and transport to those experiencing them.
Don't worry,
this website isn't going to be some plodding tome examining the Impact of
Film on Society or something equally dreary and yawn-inspiring.

every one of them feel taking on a caustic & aloof
"I'm way too cool to be entertained by this stuff" attitude
is the way to go.
When did these bellyachers become the Arbiters of Hip?
Let's try something different with a blatant and unapologetic appreciation
of some magical moments in movies. The movie itself doesn't necessarily have to
be good, but the scene itself presents a twinkling glimpse of stirring achievement.
